Lenten Devotion 03.05.2014

March 5 – Ash Wednesday
Fasting Item(s): N/A
Today’s Scripture: Mark 1:4  “John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
Question: What do you need to ask God for forgiveness of?
Devotion: From when we wake till when we rest, we are constantly “missing the target” on what we set out to do.  This is the definition of sin.  Some things we are conscious of and others we are totally oblivious to.  Unresolved sin causes a pit in which we tend to get stuck in.  Just like when Peter got out of the boat to walk to Jesus, he took his eyes off of his target (Jesus) and began to sink.  It was the living Christ who pulled Peter out of his pit and it is the same living Christ who can pull you out of your pit.  Please consider the Mark 1:4 text to help you identify your pit and give Jesus your hand to pull you out.
