March 6 – ThursdayFasting Item(s): Sugars, Desserts & Candy – God will forgive you if you already ate a doughnut today – just ask Him.Today’s Scripture: Psalm 25:4-5 “Show me the right path, O LORD; Point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by Your Truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in You.”Question: Are you teachable?Devotion: I believe that we are ALL teachable, but I guess the follow-up question would be, who’s your teacher? In a world of social media with Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and journalism turned opinion columns, we are inundated with “teachers” whether we like it or not. From Glenn Beck to Perez Hilton (Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr.), from Matt Walsh to Jimmy Fallon, we all have people we follow and admire for a strength that they posses. Strength however, does not originate from us though. Why then do we put so much of our mentorship and learnings into the hands of those who lack a source of strength? We all love facts don’t we? We all love to be “right” when it comes to a debate. But when it comes to the Truth of God, we tend to make excuses and disregard it as “a thing of old Bible times”. Aren’t we living in Bible times now? #TruthOfGod “O LORD; Point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by Your Truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me.” Selah (stop and listen). Here’s the free Lent Calendar to follow along the path God is calling us to. Take others on the journey with you, but not in a “look at us” sort of way. This is a humble journey to be endured with the help of God.
