“The Story” @ Eaton Green Estates…
So what did Jesus Christ actually say about life, love and how to live one’s day-to-day?
We look to explore those questions and hopefully dig for the answers in “The Story”, a selection of Bible narratives from the New International Version (NIV). Here’s a brief explanation from the publisher about The Story: “The Story is an abridged, chronological Bible that reads like a novel. There are no verse references, and Scripture segments are seamlessly woven together with transition text into a single grand narrative. For those intimidated or overwhelmed by the unabridged Bible, The Story helps people understand God’s Word more fully and engage with it more easily.”
Interested? What’s the commitment? Who’s it for? Where to begin?
Interested?: If you are even remotely curious or have thought to yourself, “I should see if this will help answer some of my questions” then this is the place for you.
What’s the commitment?: You can come to just one or all of the meetings. The intention is to be neighbors who discover that we have a lot in common and we thought this would be a great way to do just that.
Who is it for?: Anyone interested in getting out of their house and desiring to meet the people down the street. That means you.
Where to begin: The first meeting night will be held at 1052 Eaton Green (the Longdens’ residence). Here is a calendar of meeting dates and times along with the weekly studies and their readings.
Please consider what Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” We are taking Jesus’ Words seriously on this!
